PLTW (Project Lead the Way)
Our science curriculum is PLTW Project Lead the Way. Our first unit focusses on the science of flight. We will learn how airplanes fly by focusing on the four forces of flight: lift, drag, thrust, weight. This inquiry based learning opportunity focuses on high student engagement and exploration.
We are focusing on simple and compound machines. We will build an inclined plane, lever, and a pulley. We will then create a compound machine to lift a tiger out of a moat and rescue the tiger as a final project.
