I have been very fortunate to have wonderful teaching opportunities throughout college and my career. I received my Bachelors Degree in Education through University of Montana in Missoula, MT. My first teaching experience was in Shoshone, ID where I taught 20 students in a high poverty community. It was a fantastic experience and very thankful for this. Missing western Montana, I was excited to accept a teaching position in Philipsburg, MT. I really enjoyed teaching in the small community, as it is similar to the one I grew up in. While in Philipsburg, I taught first grade for three years and third grade for one. After five years of teaching, I was ready to move closer to home. Growing up on a farm between Belfry and Bridger, I was excited to return to south central Montana. This will be my eighth year teaching at Arrowhead. I taught first grade for three years, and this will be my fifth year teaching third grade here.
Along with teaching, I am the head varsity girls basketball coach for Skyview. I enjoy having the opportunity to coach at the high school level as sports instill many characteristics that are incredibly valuable throughout life. On occasion, I will miss a day in the classroom, but I carefully select guest teachers and leave detailed lesson plans to ensure a positive experience for everyone! During the summer I farm with my family between Belfry and Bridger. I enjoy irrigating, riding my dirt bike, and spending time with my family. One of my favorite parts of summer is barley harvest. I haul all of our barley to Ralston, WY and get to prep for the school year while waiting in line. I help out throughout the rest of the year when I am able to. :) This is going to be a wonderful year and I am excited to have an opportunity to get to know you and your family!
